Located in the booming Shaw neighborhood, this project represents YW’s first condominium development. Not satisfied with the typical vertical division associated with condo conversions in the city, we decided to separate the units horizontally to take advantage of the numerous side windows and the extreme length of the Victorian mansion. With such a plan, we avoided the noise  transmission between floors and make units feel just like individual townhouse.

The most difficult part of the construction concerns the excavation and underpinning. Despite of various research beforehand, we were a bit surprised by the volume of the excavation, the time and cost spent for this undertaking. However in the end, we were satisfied with the quality of the subcontractor and were confident that the foundation of the house is now much stronger than that of most other historic houses in the city.

With cherry floor, custom cabinets, marble tiles and stainless steel appliances, the combination of all the finishes present a unique and lively feel.
